Transceiver and System Design for Digital Communications

Author:

Scott Bullock

In this 5th Edition, the author continues to evaluate various novel techniques and design methods for the modulation and transmission of digital data, allowing the readers to gain a firm understanding of the processes needed to effectively design wireless data link communication systems. Since the author regularly runs industry seminars based on this book, he is continuously updating the book material. This edition includes thorough updates of all chapters including all concepts and revised and new figures.

Coaxial Connector Frequencies

Author:

Jean-Jacques DeLisle

Coaxial cable connectors are a fundamental component for interfacing with RF devices up to hundreds of gigahertz. The frequency handling capability of coaxial connectors is based upon the dimensions of the inner and outer conductors, as well as the quality of precision in which the parts of the coaxial connector are constructed. Coaxial connectors are generally designed with either 50 or 75 ohms of impedance. The impedance of the coaxial connector is dictated by the dielectric material between the inner and outer conductors and their ratio.

RF Circuit Design

Author:

Chris Bowick

It's Back! New chapters, examples, and insights; all infused with the timeless concepts and theories that have helped RF engineers for the past 25 years! RF circuit design is now more important than ever as we find ourselves in an increasingly wireless world. Radio is the backbone of today's wireless industry with protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, WiMax, and ZigBee. Most, if not all, mobile devices have an RF component and this book tells the reader how to design and integrate that component in a very practical fashion.

Digital Communications: Fundamentals and Applications (2nd Edition)

Author:

Bernard Sklar

Master every key digital communications technology, concept, and technique.

Digital Communications, Second Edition is a thoroughly revised and updated edition of the field's classic, best-selling introduction. With remarkable clarity, Dr. Bernard Sklar introduces every digital communication technology at the heart of today's wireless and Internet revolutions, providing a unified structure and context for understanding them -- all without sacrificing mathematical precision.

Maxwell's Equations

Website with tutorials explaining Maxwell's Equations. It's also a great review if you have been out of school for a while.

This site aims to teach Maxwell's Equations in as simple and intuitive a manner as possible. This tutorial should be useful for anyone with an interest in electromagnetics. Don't fear the math - I'll explain that as well, while avoiding unnecessary rigor wherever possible.

Wireless Communications: Principles and Practice

Author:

Theodore Rappaport

Wireless Communications, Second Edition is the definitive professional's overview of wireless communications technology and system design. Building on his classic first edition, Theodore S. Rappaport reviews virtually every important new wireless standard and technological development, including W-CDMA, cdma2000, UMTS, and UMC 136/EDGE; IEEE 802.11 and HIPERLAN WLANs; Bluetooth, LMDS, and more. Includes dozens of practical new examples, solved step by step.

Practical RF Circuit Design for Modern Wireless Systems: Active Circuits and Systems

Author:

Rowan Gilmore and Les Besser

The second of two volumes, this is a comprehensive treatment of nonlinear circuits, introducing the advanced topics that professionals need to understand for their RF (radio frequency) circuit design work. It presents an introduction to active RF devices and their modelling, and explores nonlinear circuit simulation techniques. Design techniques are addressed for RF transistor amplifiers, oscillators, mixers and frequency multipliers.
